Are You Going Up or Down?

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”

Romans 8:28

No matter where we’ve been, or what we’ve done, or how much trouble we’re in, if we’re in God’s way, then there is salvation, there is redemption, there is the ability for God to intervene, to turn the tables, to take something so bad and make it so good. That’s a marvelous thing about God, the moment we go God’s way. He is in the business of delivering people and we need to be delivered—from ourselves, from our own thoughts and from our own situations. God, delivered me, and God knows how to deliver you, and He’ll send a well in our lives. Jonah had to be delivered from himself. That’s why storms come—to deliver us from everybody else. The moment we turn and begin to do things our way, we’re going to go down. But, the moment we turn to God, we’re going to go up. That’s all we need to know about life. If we turn to God, though we may not understand, we’re going to go up. If we turn away from God, we’re going to go down.
